The Greek Secret

I was hired again by The Washington Oxi Foundation, this time to make a short film about the Greek word Philotimo. I co-directed the film with the organization founders, Andy Manatos and Mike Manatos. I also filmed the opening scene, edited and created all the motion graphics and conducted most of the interviews, including George Stephanopoulos, Arianna Huffington and His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios. Jake Swantko was the dolly camera operator on all of those interviews as well as the b-roll footage of the chapel. Special thanks to Richard B. Smith, who also ran camera on those interviews as well as much, much more.

After I interviewed George Stephanopoulos, I asked him to sign my copy of The War Room. He wrote, “Good luck with your doc career.”

There’s Something Weird About Jay Lynch

Here’s a short web video I made recently. I met up with cartoonist Jay Lynch at SPX in Bethesda. I handed him a copy of Roxy Funnies from 1972 and asked him to tell me about it. Weirdness ensued.

The Deleter

Here is an ad that was requested to be made quickly in order to get into the news cycle by a certain time. It was created entirely in After Effects in less than 6 hours. Produced by 76 Words.

Box Brown’s ANDRE THE GIANT: Life and Legend

Here’s a video I shot and edited recently. I filmed cartoonist Box Brown signing his New York Times Bestselling Graphic Novel ANDRE THE GIANT: Life and Legend at Big Planet Comics in DC. I shot with DSLR cameras using a variety of lenses. It edited in Premiere, with a few touches in After Effects. Special thanks to Jared Smith at Big Planet Comics and the folks at First Second Books.

Generation Action

Here’s a video that I edited recently. It was edited in Adobe Premiere with a few graphic treatments using After Effects. Also, a few of the shots throughout are mine, almost all other footage shot by Jeff Dailey. Produced by 76 Words.

Meet Stephanie & ACA Outreach

Here’s 2 videos that I recently worked on. I shot and edited the Meet Stephanie video and I edited and created the motion graphics to the ACA Outreach video. ACA Outreach shot by Jeff Dailey.

Hockey Dad

Here are two new ads that I edited and created the motion graphics for. Edited in Adobe Premiere. Graphics created in After Effects using dynamic link. Shot by Jeff Dailey. Produced by 76 Words.

The Family Sandoval

Here’s a new ad that I shot and edited recently. Shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico using a 5D Mark III on a Kessler Pocket Dolly. The second camera was a Canon 7D. Edited entirely in Adobe Premiere. An interesting side note: Our soundman, Darryl L. Frank, was a soundman on Terminator Salvation and Breaking Bad, where he worked on 60-some episodes and won an Emmy.

The Story of Oxi Day and the Battle of Crete

I recently directed and edited these two short documentaries for the Washington Oxi Day Foundation. I filmed the opening footage of the WWII Memorial, with Christian Brown as camera assistant. Kian McKeller ran the dolly camera on both Kitreoff’s interview and Dina Titus. Christian Brown was camera operator for all other camera work. Sound recording on Kitreoff’s interview by Richard B. Smith. Both were edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
