I was hired again by The Washington Oxi Foundation, this time to make a short film about the Greek word Philotimo. I co-directed the film with the organization founders, Andy Manatos and Mike Manatos. I also filmed the opening scene, edited and created all the motion graphics and conducted most of the interviews, including George Stephanopoulos, Arianna Huffington and His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios. Jake Swantko was the dolly camera operator on all of those interviews as well as the b-roll footage of the chapel. Special thanks to Richard B. Smith, who also ran camera on those interviews as well as much, much more.
After I interviewed George Stephanopoulos, I asked him to sign my copy of The War Room. He wrote, “Good luck with your doc career.”
Here’s a short web video I made recently. I met up with cartoonist Jay Lynch at SPX in Bethesda. I handed him a copy of Roxy Funnies from 1972 and asked him to tell me about it. Weirdness ensued.

I shot with DSLR cameras using a variety of lenses. It edited in Premiere, with a few touches in After Effects. Special thanks to Jared Smith at Big Planet Comics and the folks at First Second Books.

Here’s a new ad that I shot and edited recently. Shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico using a 5D Mark III on a Kessler Pocket Dolly. The second camera was a Canon 7D. Edited entirely in Adobe Premiere. An interesting side note: Our soundman, Darryl L. Frank, was a soundman on Terminator Salvation and Breaking Bad, where he worked on 60-some episodes and won an Emmy.
