Art
My earliest memories are of making art and wanting to grow up to be an artist. I won a couple art awards in middle school, and in high school fixated on trying to go to college for art. I grew up in a trailer and so my parents didn’t have the means to send me to an expensive private art school. Despite those challenges, I managed to get enough scholarships, grants and loans to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art, and graduate with a Bachelors in Fine Art in 2001. After spending a few years focusing on documentaries, in 2008 I started to work as a cartoonist making autobiographical comics on the web called Sorry Comics. Since then, I have been making paintings and publishing in various comic anthologies, including HIVE, Stranger Than Fiction Comics, ReDistricted Comics and Magic Bullet.
